I have been a Buxworth resident for 17 years. I came to the village upon retirement from my profession as a Social Worker for 30 years with Manchester City Council.

My experience was in both child protection and as an approved social worker (1983 Mental Health Act), with a psychiatric team attached to Manchester Royal Infirmary.

I have become quite well known in the area having joined in with many local activities which have included Chinley Amateur Dramatic Society, Sett Valley quiz league, and well dressing.

I am a life member of Bugsworth War Memorial Club and help with odd jobs there.

I am grateful to be part of the Parish Council despite my disability, however, I have developed quite effective means of communication in the last ten years since cancer surgery.
