Libraries for Derbyshire: Public Library Service Strategy Consultation

Fri, 25 May 2018 18:16 by Parish Clerk

Derbyshire County Council have launched a 12 week public consultation for their proposed public library service strategy Libraries for Derbyshire. You can complete their consultation questionnaire at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/librariesforderbyshire More »

As part of the consultation they have organised drop in sessions across all 45 libraries in Derbyshire for people to meet with DCC and to discuss the proposals in person. In addition, in the 20 communities proposed for community managed libraries they have arranged focus groups for anyone interested in getting involved to give their views, discuss any practicalities and challenges and decide if they want to take their interest further.

They are also holding a Mobile Library Service focus group to look at alternative methods of delivery for the Mobile Library Service. For example, community organisations running the mobile library service or possibly providing transport to the nearest static library for those that need it.

The Mobile Library Service focus group is on Wednesday 11th July 6-8pm at Members Room, County Hall Matlock.

To read their proposed strategy and to find out more details on all their consultation events, including details on how to book your tickets for the focus group, please go to the dedicated library strategy webpage www.derbyshire.gov.uk/librariesforderbyshire
